Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the TDI market in East China has slightly declined this week. As of March 21st, the average market price in East China was 12,100 RMB/ton, and as of March 17th, the average price was 12,200 RMB/ton. Within the week, it fell by 0.82%, and compared to the same period last year, it fell by 27.11%.

Analysis review

This week, the TDI market was operating at a low level. There was sufficient supply on site, and traders offered prices according to the market, with downstream demand being the main focus. Intermediaries had a strong willingness to sell goods, and the focus of transactions was trending downwards. The lack of positive news in the market has boosted confidence among industry players, dragging down prices to continue falling.

Supply side: Gansu Yinguang's equipment was restarting, while Fujian Wanhua and Xinjiang Juli were operating at medium to high loads, with fast supply filling and loose supply.

On the cost side: The price of toluene has fallen, and port inventories in East China were relatively high. Due to the sluggish local liquid chemical market, prices have generally declined during the cycle.

Market outlook

The TDI data analyst from SunSirs believes that the TDI market lacked real order support, downstream stocking willingness was not strong, and under the mentality of buying up rather than buying down, it is expected that the TDI market will operate to be weaker in the short term.
